I heard Marigolds can repel animals from your garden.
When the warm weather started a few weeks ago, I noticed all my flowers & plants sprouted. I was so excited, because I have spent four years “establishing” my garden. It is only a small garden, but it is mine……or actually the mortgage companies, but that is a whole other subject.
With help from my family and dear hubby, I have planted bulbs, perennials and all sorts of goodies.Last year was nice but this spring I knew the garden would be even better.
You can imagine my dismay, no anger, when I noticed all the tops of my hostas have been chewed off and the sedums have been demolished. Last year when this happened I was pregnant. So as would expect I was very emotional and was more concerned if the perpetrator had a family and babies near by. This year I am much less would you say…sympathtetic.
You know how many hot, sweaty & dirty days I spent in that garden? Many. Many, many, many, many, days. To think that a little furry rodent of some sort ate my hard work. I pondered buying poison, but I have two small children and that is never a good combination to have in your home. I thought about getting a b.b. gun, but that would be mean, since I do in fact love animals.
I didn’t do either. I simply planted marigolds. Some one told me they keep animals away. So I will see how this summer goes for my garden. In the end, everyone has to eat.
